This time of year is always busy especially for the planner & cook (ie me!) so I find collections of short stories or novellas the best. See what I don’t want to do is become so engrossed in a novel that I have to read it all in one sitting so that I miss out on a night’s sleep (e.g. BA Paris’ Breakdown)!

It’s nice to read a holiday themed book this time of year but there aren’t a lot on my TBR. It’s even nice to read a book and have it coincidentally set at Christmas – for instance, The Adventures of Cinnamon Girl. Not a Christmas book, but nice to read at this time of year because the timing lines up.
