Sunday Post #10: Books, Field Trip, & New Schedule

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I’m not sure how I did it this past week, but I got a really good amount of reading in. There are a few more books I was able to read that I haven’t been able to post reviews for, so those will be going up soon. Surprised, because I had a few things going on this week that I wasn’t so sure how it would go with books or what kind of time I was looking at. So, yeah that was a nice surprise and half of them were spooky reads, as well as my first poetry book of the year.

Along with that, was my daughter’s Kinder field trip to a farm complete with a pond full of fish, farm animals, and tons of fun activities like face painting, pumpkin bowling (yeah used a pumpkin to strike pins lol), and a nice picnic with the kids. It was a nice day with my daughter and she definitely did not want to leave when it was time to go. I mean really, who would want to leave when you have all that plus small kittens running around the whole farm (yup, it included kittens).

There was also Michaels earlier in the week, with they’re awesome coupons and extra special coupons you can combine together, so I got myself a new planner. I just had to, when it comes to the Happy Planner and myself that’s about the only one that I will really try using because of how fun and creative it can be. Didn’t always keep up with one, but after my last one and seeing that I actually used it I knew I was sticking to it. That and I got a few water brushes for coloring 😊.

If that wasn’t a productive week, well then maybe getting a job was lol. Yup, I’m starting an 8 to 5 job and really looking forward to it as our family can always use the extra income.. well, who wouldn’t like more money in their pockets?? So, I’ll be trying my hardest to manage my time so I’m able to share all my posts throughout the week. Of course it won’t take away much from my book time, yup, it’s not an easy feat to keep me from them 💕.

What I’m Watching

There were a few things I caught up with this week and one of them was definitely Scorpion. I had heard of this show before and once upon a time watched an ep and then never again. Yup, that changed! Don’t know what it was about it that didn’t get my attention the first time around because it’s quickly becoming one of my faves. Then I added The Dark Tower for a little bit of spooky feels to go with the week. I have to admit that I watched The Gifted mostly because of Stephen Moyer, but actually came to like it. And, it wouldn’t be really much a good week without some comedy so added The Emoji Movie to that mix. Leaving you guys with the clip of the week, which turned out to be from The Emoji Movie because it was just too cute!

Hope that brought a smile to your face and that it starts off your week on the right foot! Happy days & happy reading!

Congratulations on the new job! The field trip sounds fun. It is always nice when you get more reading done, even if you don’t know how you did it. Have a great week Jen!
