Sunday Post #7: Book Club & Crafting Woes
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
This week seemed to have passed by in a blur! Well, maybe only part of it lol. There was a lot that went on with my kids school this week, along with news from BGC (Boys and Girls club) that my daughter would sadly not be able to attend anymore as there was not enough staff available for Kinder students. As you can just imagine, there was a lot of making her smile this week with a few sweets, a little bit of toy shopping, and reading to Sky (monthly puppy visit at our local library).
Along with that, was the book club of the month which I always look forward to. This month we read The Bookshop on the Corner which was a really nice, lighthearted read (will be sharing my review of it soon). It’s a great way to also get some novels in that I’d probably not read outside of the club. Next month’s book is Broken For You, really looking forward to reading it and seeing if it’s another book I enjoy.
I’ve also been trying to be more creative and crafty, since the kids have been wanting me to do more things like that with them. I’m far from being a crafty person, when I try I fail because I get distracted from it too quickly. This week though, I seemed to have gotten into it a little more and actually stopped by Michael’s and a few other places to pick up some things, even keeping up with a planner that I decorate with stickers (don’t judge ’til you try lol) and other goodies. A step in the right direction.
I’m also having some anxiety as time moves along quicker. Where did last week go?? We’re almost done with September, then it’s October. I’m also starting to see Christmas things everywhere (happens every year). I’m feeling it more this year as my kids get bigger. Is it just me? There’s another hidden reason for that anxiety, it’s having to tell my little ones we’re not going to Texas this Thanksgiving as things have come up and priorities have shifted. October please move slower.

What I’m Watching/Listening To
It was a week of laughs because sometimes you just need it to be that kind of week. The Orville is quickly becoming one of those shows I didn’t know I was going to like as much as I do, Fuller House is that second show that has become a fave and now I’m kind of regretting binging on it because I want to know what’s going to happen with DJ and Steve. Sly & Single Again is a Korean Drama from 2014 and it’s such a cute one. I’ve seen others I’ve loved more, but it’s still ranks on my top cute romance ones. I can’t forget The Good Place that just came back for Season 2, discovered this show recently and it’s too funny.
There was a good amount of music this week. Fergie just came out with her new “visual” album Double Dutchess, which means tons of new videos from her. I wasn’t sure how that was going to go as I’ve only liked certain songs by her, but I’m actually loving this album and all the old school vibes. Another song I had on replay was Dusk till Dawn from Zayn ft Sia, I loved the combo of that song and the video is a fun little short movie that I wish was longer. Two more that I listened to throughout the week was Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface album and Skylar Grey’s single Final Warning which is like another short film (so good). Leaving you guys with Skylar Grey’s vid, an early start to October ( I know, contradicting myself by skipping a week ahead lol) with tons of mystery and spooky feels.
Hope you guys have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
