Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Bromances
The Top 5 for this week is all about bromances. It is the last topic for the month of August and it was definitely one of the most fun to do. If you’d like to participate in this week’s topic, or would like to check out any other discussions in the group, you can go here.
I really enjoyed looking back on the books I’ve read to find my top faves in this week’s topic because, as it’s stated on the groups page, “…who doesn’t love a good bromance?”. I know I do, and it definitely wasn’t easy to pick only five, but I tried my best. So here goes…
This one is pretty obvious and there was no way I was leaving them off this list. There’s no denying that what Harry and Ron have is the ultimate bromance. They have been through so much together, good and bad, and made it out alive. The whole Harry Potter series is a playlist on how to have the best bromance ever.
If anyone can come close to taking that number one spot, it’s definitely Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural. I love these two and they are everything a bromance should be and more. Whether on screen, or in the many books and graphic novels made with these two as the lead characters, there is no doubt they would continue going to the ends of the world for each other.
Legolas and Gimli were not far behind. These two were never meant to be friends, let alone fight by each other’s side or stand tall for one another. They surpassed everyone’s expectations of such a relationship and held strong to it, making them one of the best bromances to fill the awesome pages that is The Lord of the Rings.
There was no way I was leaving Alec and Jace out of my top five. I don’t doubt that these two would still have the best bromance ever even without their parabatai connection. Throughout the whole series of The Mortal Instruments, they have each other’s back and a bond that is stronger than most.
My last pick, but not least, is Percy and Grover from Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Yes, they have other friends, but these two together are great. They go above and beyond for each other and their interactions are the best. Plus, adventures and troubles they deal with make their bromance more special. They’re resilient in protecting one another no matter what gets thrown their way.
There are so many more bromances out there I love and can’t get enough of, but for now my tops will have to do. Let me know below in the comment section which ones are your faves or a link to your post if you’ve participated in this week’s Top 5 and I’ll go check it out. Hope you all have happy reading days ahead!
