Sunday Post #3: Books for Days & New School Year

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

It was a little bit of a hectic week as we were getting everything together for the kids new school year because yes, I procrastinated and left everything until almost the last minute. I know, why? I shouldn’t, but it just works out that way. I think it might have to do with knowing that the year is more than halfway over with. Fall is my favorite season, but I don’t want it getting here so quickly.

So, while getting all that done, and a few other things that were causing a little bit of stress, I read A LOT. It helped and then I found myself reading some more. I don’t usually find that I have much time for a lot of reads with busy weeks like this one, but it worked out that way this week. It’s a good thing also because I had so many on my TBR list already and that shortened it (not that it drastically reduced it, but it helped lol).

There is still a little more that I need to do before the kids start classes in a week from now, including an open house. My daughter is even more excited to start, as her kindergarten teacher sent her a letter welcoming her to the class (it included stickers 💕). My boys are getting antsy, as they also want to start classes already. Yes, I’m a proud mama right about now, hoping they have those good feels for school as they get into their teenage years lol.

It was a movie kind of week and the first one was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which of course I’ve watched more than once. I couldn’t avoid Captain Underpants as my kids were really adamant about it, so yeah that happened lol. The movie that gave me all the feels this week, which I didn’t even think it would, was Before We Go. I saw it by chance on Netflix and said why not, it quickly became one of my favorites. Then there was Death Note which I had been wanting to see for a good while. More about it on my previous post.

Thank you for stopping by! Hope the movie clip above brought a smile to your face and that it starts your week off on the right foot!

Sometimes that happens, especially when you are trying to get caught up from other things. I know that’s what happens with us. Hope you have a great week!

Parenting never has a dull moment lol. Even outside of that, everything feels so much more rushed and hectic with days feeling so short; books have a way though of making it feel a little less like that and a lot more relaxed. Hope that helps your week along also <3
