The “Get To Know You” Book Tag
I saw this book tag on Darque Dreamer Reads Blog and thought it would be fun to do one myself. This is the first tag I have added myself to. So here goes..
1) What’s your favorite book?
There are so many books I have read and enjoyed throughout the years, but one that sticks with me through all of it and I have read several times is Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. I love the complete series, but the first one is the one that really took me in and made me fall in love with Odd and all of his world.
2) What was your favorite book 5 years ago?
For this, the Odd Thomas series connected perfectly because the rest of the books were coming out around that time (and a little bit afterward). I looked forward to each one and loved as the story progressed and the new characters that were being introduced to his world.
3) Favorite Duology/Trilogy/Series?
Okay, I will move along from Odd Thomas lol. There are many books I love and several that are at the tops along with that series. The main one? You guessed it, Harry Potter. It may seem like a way too obvious answer, but it was a book that fueled my imagination even more, that continues to grow with people of all ages.
Then there are those that brought me into the world of YA and everything that was great about it. Series like The Hunger Games which made me want more characters like Katniss and Twilight that introduced me to a world full of fandoms, which is such a great thing to be a part of.
4) What was the last book you read?
I am about tofinish Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira and halfway through with Horizon by Tabitha Lord. I’ll be sharing my reviews on both books soon.
5) What was the last book of poetry you read?
Yup, it’s been one of those years where I haven’t read any poetry books. I know, I will definitely get around to that. If anyone has any suggestions on good ones I should to check out please let me know down below, so that this doesn’t become me lol.
6) What book most influenced your life?
There’s one book I remember being the first to spark my love for books, that being James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Everything about it, especially the magical elements that filled those pages and James getting to have a happy ending after such a harsh beginning, stayed with me.
7) What book made you ugly cry?
That would have to go to The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. I was so emotional during that whole novel and it just intensified as I read more and more of it. I then watched the movie and everything was tears for days.
8) What book made you laugh?
I would have to say Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It had all the feels and tons of laugh-out-loud moments.
9) Character you would like to be for a day?
There are so many great characters out there and it took me awhile to pick just one (even writing this I’m still thinking about other characters). But, seeing as I can only choose one for now, I’d have to say Mala from The Brothers Three by Layton Green. She’s intensely fierce and can hold her own through anything.
10) A book that was so good you dreamt about it.
That would be Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I’ve been reading more books with Carnival themes and lots of magical elements. Definitely a favorite theme of the year.
11) A book you DNF’d.
Happy to say I have not done that with any book this year, well not up to now. There’s still 1/2 the year to go and trying my best not to, we’ll see how that goes.
12) What book are you most excited to read?
I’m looking forward to several more novels this year, but one that I really want to read soon is This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada. So many great novels to read and so little time.
This was a fun tag and it was all about books… yup, the best. Thanks again to Darque Dreamer Reads for sharing and to the person that started this tag (not sure where it originated, but if it was you, thank you).
