REVIEW: Part Star Part Dust was a very touching read, with so many different elements filling the pages as I read along. Right from the very start it caught my attention and never let it go. There were twists and turns, genuine life moments, and feels of all kinds. It brought together every character in a beautiful way and told us of life that is lived on so many different paths, with so many different circumstances, but each with struggles just as heartbreaking and endearing.

“If you are reading this, you are alive. This is, of course, a good thing. It means that you still have me, you still have Time. You have to your name seconds, minutes, hours, perhaps years worth of breaths yet to come; blank canvases that you can fill with whatever your heart desires; summer skies or clamoring confusions, whispered gratitude or embittered curses, unbridled laughter or hopeless dejection. You can dance in ecstasy, love and be loved, swallow the sunshine and set the night on fire; you can smile at the stars, you can be, because you live. You are.”

I loved how every character had their time to shine, their story to tell and filled every crevice of this novel. How the reader was brought in to their lives, their highs and lows, how each one felt so honest and real. No matter where I was taken, I could see what kept them going and hurt when they felt betrayed or torn by life choices. I couldn’t get enough of this novel and found that I read through it so quickly, without deterring.

There is Radha, blessed with loving adoptive parents and a great upbringing, but it is forever searching for the true meaning of happiness and joy.  Mira that has had no choice but to marry someone she never knew or loved, realizes later in life that it was one of the worst things that could have happened to her. If that wasn’t enough she has to face a heart-rending truth that is much sadder and painful than her marriage. Lets not forget Gaurav, trying to be what is expected of him and being more than what was yelled at him during his youth, a beggar and a far worse word better left unwritten.

Every character is then brought together in the most unexpected ways, linking them in their search for meaning for the rest of their lives. It was intense and captivating all the way through. And so glad I entered the giveaway for this novel on Goodreads, if not I would have missed out on such a great read.
