Goodreads Synopsis: Cassandra Cain is Batgirl: vigilante crime-fighter, protégé to both Batman and Barbara Gordon, and the ultimate martial arts master. Her near-superhuman fighting abilities are so much a part of her identity that when they failed her, she was willing to make an unthinkable bargain to get them back.
Impressed by their first encounter, the unbeatable assassin Lady Shiva agreed to help restore Cassandra’s incredible skills. In return, exactly one year later, Lady Shiva would return to challenge Cassandra to a rematch.
Only this time, it’s to the death.

REVIEW: I really liked this novel. Love Cassandra Cain as the Batgirl and how much of a fighter she is as well as caring. Right from the start we see her fighting to protect someone that might not be worth her time, but she shows that no matter what profession, people are not always what they seem. It might not be a happy ending for said person, but Batgirl doesn’t let it end there.
Throughout this comic, we see Batgirl and the story-line move along pretty quickly, sometimes being a little too fast of a movement, but it didn’t take too much away from everything good going on.
Batman is also a big part of this collection along with Oracle and that makes it that much better. Of course, they are both at it with each other a bit as to what is best for Batgirl. Love that they incorporate much more of them in this issue.
Looking forward to reading more with Cassandra as the leading character and those that will also be a part of it.
